What is Qurbani?
Qurbani is the sacrifice of an animal for the sake of Allah (SWT).
Muslims around the world make an animal sacrifice on the 10th, 11th or 12th day of Dhul Hiijah to commemorate the obedience of the Prophet Ibrahim (AS). Allah (swt) asked Ibrahim (AS) to sacrifice his son Ismaeel (PBUH) and both surrendered to His (SWT) command. But before Ibrahim (PBUH) could obey, Allah provided a ram for slaughter instead.

Qurbani Donation
100% Donation Policy
We are honoured to serve you in this sacred act and, as with all our appeals, have a 100% donation policy. We guarantee your Qurbanis are compliant with Islamic requirements using only healthy animals that have been raised and slaughtered in a halal and tayyib way.
Qurbani Price
This year, the Qurbani Prices are:
£60 – 1 part cow
£125 – 1 sheep
Due to the fluctuating global prices of animals, the final price for the Qurbani may change. We will use funds from our Qurbani reserves to cover any shortfall. If there are funds left over from your donation, we will keep them in the Qurbani Fund to be used in the future. Rest assured 100% of your donation will be spent on those who need it most.
Who needs to perform Qurbani?
Qurbani is an obligation upon every sane muslim who is financially able to do so (including children who have reached puberty) i.e. with wealth above the nisab (Zakat threshold). It brings abundant reward and helps us to remember the needs of those less fortunate as well as the obedience of Prophet Ibrahim (AS).
Who will receive the Qurbani?
Ihsan Global Relief ensures Qurbani is distributed to the most needy. We have set the following criteria to determine who is eligible for Qurbani that is being donated:
- Refugees
- Families earning less than the minimum income for that particular country
- Families unable to access markets
- Families with no adult males such as widows
- Families with disabled and/or elderly persons
- Orphans
- Poor families with terminally ill and/or hospitalised children or parents
Can I give more than One Qurbani?
The Prophet (SAW) himself carried out multiple Qurbani for himself and the Ummah. You may wish to follow his sunnah and perform more than one Qurbani; one for yourself and one for someone who cannot afford for themselves or one for the ummah; this is permissible and a beautiful act to think of those less fortunate whilst also reviving the sunnah.
‘The Prophet (ﷺ) sacrificed for the one who could not sacrifice from his ummah, one who bore witness to the Oneness of Allah and [his] Prophethood’
Tabarani and Ahmed
