Fidiyah

Fidyah is due when someone cannot fast in Ramadan because of a valid reason and is unable to make up the missed fasts afterwards. For example, someone who suffers from chronic illness and the sickness is such that the person is not expected to regain the ability to make up the missed fasts. The price of Fidya is typically £6 per day and fluctuates yearly in line with the price of basic foods. This will provide an eligible poor person with two meals per day.
